The Power Hour

Top Post No. 9 for 2011: For the last 10 business days (Mon-Fri) of 2011 we are going to repost our top posts from the year. Our readership has grown and we thought this would be a fun way to share our most-read posts again. This post originally appeared on April 4, 2011. (The top 10 posts exclude our fairytale series and our debt free story posts.)

Every night from 6:30 to 7:30, we have what's called our "power hour." We typically get home between 4:15 and 5:00 (depending how our morning routine goes), so by 6:30 we would have executed our 10-minute rule, caught up on Twitter/Facebook, and eaten supper. We are so amazed when we look at the clock and realize it's only 6:30! Then we simultaneously yell, "POWER HOUR!" This has been an awesome discovery the past few months now that I'm not working a second job and we are home every night together.

And this gets us so excited. Excited enough even for a ninja kick sometimes. I give a good 'ol ninja kick to the air when I get really amped about something. Example: We just got a bonus at work! (Ninja kick to the air). Maybe a photo will help:

By now you are wondering what the heck we do with our power hour. Let me tell you. Usually we spend our time blogging, editing photos and anything else on our TeuxDeux lists. What's TeuxDeux? It's a sleek and simple website where you can make yourself a to-do list daily. Check it out. They also have an iPhone app that will sync with the Web. (Yay, cloud!)

Truth be told, we usually don't stop at 7:30. Once our productive train gets rolling, we usually work till bed. Lame life to some, but ya know it's a blog-eat-blog world out there. We do have a small bit of a social life. We play volleyball most of the year one night a week, and I play softball in the spring and summer. And some nights we watch our favorite TV shows: Parenthood, The Office and Modern Family.

Do you have a "power hour" of sorts? We'd love to hear about it.
