Daily Bread: Greek Steak and Spaghetti

We made this on a whim a few weeks ago. I had bought four beef chuck boneless petite tender steaks (4 oz each) at the store because they were on sale. Confession: I really don't know that much about steaks or the cut of meat, so I usually just opt for the cheapest and I really can't tell much of a difference. What I can tell you is that Northwestern Steakhouse in Mason City makes a mean Greek steak. And every time we go there, we get the same thing: fillet, cooked medium, with spaghetti. My stepmom (bless her heart) gave us a recipe that is eerily similar. We had made the steaks before, but never the spaghetti. And after we did, we realized that the secret is they must be consumed together!

Here's How You Do It

Gather Your Ingredients:

  • Steak (4-6 oz)
  • Spaghetti noodles
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 teaspoon Greek seasoning (we used Pampered Chef's Greek Rub)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon Lawrey's seasoning
  • Parmesan cheese
Sauce, Steaks and Spaghetti:
  1. Melt butter and add seasoning.
  2. Pour over steaks and bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes on each side (or until desired done-ness).
  3. Boil the spaghetti until done.
Prepare the Meal:
  1. Once the steaks are done, take out of oven to serve.
  2. Pour butter/seasoning mixture over spaghetti noodles and add Parmesan cheese (be liberal with the cheese).

Voila! Deliciousness in your mouth. We needed bibs from all the drooling we were doing while eating.

Enjoy!
